Khaberni - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the National Center for Security and Crisis Management, announced a pilot launch of the early warning system on mobile phones, as part of the national efforts to enhance readiness and response to emergency situations.
According to a statement by the ministry today, Thursday, the Petra region has been selected to carry out this trial, given the prevailing weather conditions, with the aim of assessing the system's efficiency and effectiveness on the ground.
This trial aims to test the effectiveness of the system in delivering alerts directly and immediately to citizens, especially in situations related to weather conditions or emergencies.
An audible alert will accompany the message that will reach mobile phones to attract the citizens' attention and ensure immediate awareness.
The relevant authorities confirmed that the messages sent to phones are trial messages, urging citizens not to worry when receiving them, as this step is part of developing the early communication and awareness system in the kingdom.
