Khaberni - A recent scientific study has shown that increased consumption of calcium and dairy products reduces the risk of developing metabolic syndrome, which includes complex disorders such as obesity, high blood pressure, and metabolic issues.
Researchers during the study reviewed data from 24 scientific research and studies that addressed the relationship between diet and the prevalence of metabolic syndrome among adults, comparing groups with the highest and lowest levels of consumption of calcium and dairy products.
The results showed that increased consumption of calcium is associated with a 15% decreased probability of metabolic syndrome, while the correlation was stronger with consumption of dairy products, as the risk decreased by 22%. Additionally, researchers noted that people who consume larger amounts of calcium and dairy products were less prone to issues like high blood pressure, and their blood sugar and fat levels were better than others.
The study leads indicated that the results they reached are observational and do not prove a direct causal relationship, but they suggest that a diet rich in calcium supports the body's metabolic processes and reduces the risk of diseases associated with metabolic syndrome.
Health experts emphasize that consuming foods rich in calcium protects us from issues like osteoporosis, which may lead to serious health complications, especially as we age. Moreover, calcium plays a crucial role in regulating muscle contractions, transmitting nerve signals, blood clotting, and regulating heart rhythms.
