Khaberni - By God's will, the weather on Thursday in the south of the kingdom (Karak, Tafilah, Ma'an, and Aqaba governorates) is expected to be cold, cloudy, and rainy, accompanied by heavy rains with thunder and frequent hail, which can be intense at times. Due to the continuous heavy rainfall for extended hours, flash floods are expected to form forcibly in the slopes and valleys, causing valley floods in southern Kingdom, which necessitates taking the utmost preparedness and caution. The rainfall may also lead to landslides on mountain slopes that are prone to such incidents.
During the morning hours, snow is expected to fall, God willing, and possibly accumulate temporarily on the high peaks of the southern high mountainous elevations (Sharah Mountains) including the peaks of Ras Al Naqab (the desert road connecting to Aqaba Governorate), Mount Mubarak, and surrounding areas such as Eil and Rajif and Taybeh South in Petra District, the high elevations of Shobak, Heisha elevations, and the King's Highway connecting Shobak and Wadi Musa, as well as the high peaks of Qadisiyah and Rashadiyah area.
In the remaining northern and central regions, including the capital Amman, the weather will be cold, with rain falling intermittently, which could be heavy at times especially in the northern regions where it accompanies the crossing of low clouds touching the surface of the land. The rains will extend to the eastern regions and will be thunderous in those parts, leading to the flow of streams and valleys there.
Recommendations for Thursday:
1) Caution in the south of the kingdom from the significant risks caused by the formation of strong floods and flooding of valleys and not being present in the valleys' beds and risking crossing them during their water level rise.
2) Caution from the risk of rock landslides on mountain slopes exposed to this.
3) Caution from the risks of slipping due to snowfall on the high mountain peaks in Sharah Mountains in the morning hours of Thursday.
4) Caution from the risk of fog formation and low horizontal visibility in the high mountainous elevations.
5) Caution from the risks of vehicle slipping on roads, especially when it starts to rain or hail, and from slips during snowfall in upper Tafilah and Sharah.
The weather will be cold with winter conditions and a slight decrease in the intensity of rainfall in the southern regions but will remain active while the weather will be cold and cloudy with intermittent rain in the north and central Kingdom including Karak and Tafilah governorates, and low clouds crossing near the land surface of the high mountain peaks leading to fog formation and low horizontal visibility, and the winds will be westerly with active speeds, with strong gusts.
