Khaberni - As the war in the Middle East intensifies, the file of negotiations between the United States and Iran has returned to the forefront. However, the surprise is that Tehran prefers to negotiate with Vice President JD Vance over Kushner and Witkoff.
According to reports, Iran has informed the United States through unofficial channels that it prefers Vance to lead the war negotiations. The main reason for preferring Vance over Kushner and Whitkoff is the Vice President's desire to reach an agreement to end the ongoing war.
According to reports, Iran has toughened its negotiating stance as the fighting continues and has stated that it will not enter serious negotiations unless it receives clear guarantees to stop the war and prevent a recurrence of military strikes.
According to reports, one of the main reasons Iran prefers Vance is the loss of trust in previous negotiators, especially special envoy Steve Whitkoff and Jared Kushner, as the negotiations that took place before the war broke out were not serious, and military strikes occurred despite ongoing diplomatic contacts.
Reuters mentioned that Iran has hardened its position and confirmed that it will only negotiate on terms, including stopping attacks and providing guarantees that the war will not resume.
According to reports, Iran sees negotiating with the American Vice President as giving the talks a more serious nature compared to negotiating with advisers or envoys, and since Vance is an official in the American administration, he can directly influence the final decision, making negotiations with him more effective from Tehran's perspective.
Some reports indicate that Vance was less impulsive than other figures in the American administration when it came to military escalation, which may lead Iran to consider him a more realistic party in the negotiations, especially amidst the ongoing mutual strikes between the two sides.
After Trump stated that the talks were "productive," Iran denied conducting any negotiations with the United States. In a social media post on Monday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said: "No negotiations have been conducted with the United States."
Ghalibaf wrote on X: "Fake news is being used to manipulate financial and oil markets and to escape the quagmire that the United States and Israel have fallen into," according to him.
According to Reuters, Pakistan delivered an American proposal to Iran, but the location of any talks between Tehran and Washington to end the war has not yet been decided.
The source, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue, did not disclose details of the proposal and did not specify whether it was the American proposal consisting of 15 points to end the war as reported in media outlets.
The source also added that Turkey is assisting in finding ways to end the war, and that "Turkey or Pakistan is under consideration to host such talks."
