Audio Recording Threatens to Change the Course of Saad Lamjarreds Trial

Khaberni - The case of Moroccan artist Saad Lamjarred, currently under the French judiciary, has entered a new phase with the emergence of shocking data that could reshape the course of the trial and affect its legal outcomes.

With Lamjarred appearing before the court on the 24th and 26th of March, based on accusations dating back to 2018, a new element has emerged in the case file in the form of a recorded phone call, which the defense team counts on as a turning point that could shift the case from its criminal nature to a suspicion of financial extortion.

According to the defense, the case is no longer confined to the testimony of the complainant, Laura Prioul. The artist's manager, Redouane Bouzid, revealed receiving a call from a woman claiming to be associated with the complainant, during which she offered to drop the charges and amend the statements for a monetary amount of up to 3 million euros.

The business manager is expected to appear before the court to testify, alongside the audio recording documenting the call, which is seen as a pivotal element in the defense strategy to prove that the motives behind the case could be financial.

In related context, the defense movement was not limited to pleading the innocence of their client, but also filed an official complaint concerning the suspicion of extortion, arguing that exploiting the judicial process to achieve financial gains constitutes a crime in itself that warrants accountability.
