The government reassures Jordanians no shortage or reason for panic despite the war

After 26 days of the war and the accompanying disturbances in global shipping and increasing discussions about targeting energy sources, the concern among Jordanian citizens is understandable and justified, especially with the spread of news and speculations about shortages in food supplies or disruptions in electricity and fuel.

However, what is certain on the ground is that the Jordanian state is managing this situation with high efficiency and calm, reflecting the readiness of institutions and the strength of the crisis management system. Clear reassurances have been issued by the government and from the ministers of industry and health, among other relevant parties, confirming the availability of food stocks and the stability of medicine prices, and that there is no reason for hoarding or panic buying.

Today, and on the twenty-sixth day of the war, Jordan still experiences a state of security and stability, and life continues normally without disruption or cessation of state institutions, nor any shift to remote learning or work. This itself is a message of strength and confidence that the state is in control and prioritizes the safety of its citizens.

Conversely, it is essential to address some negative practices that have appeared on the streets, whether through spreading rumors and exaggeration or some traders exploiting the situation by raising prices unjustifiably. These behaviors harm society and create an unwarranted state of concern and contradict the spirit of national responsibility.

Today, what is needed is awareness and adherence to the fact that the only reliable source of information is the official entities, and not to be swayed by any unreliable news. Crises are not managed by panic but by trust and solidarity.

Jordan has once again proven to be a strong country capable of protecting its food, medical, and economic security, and the stability we experience in this difficult situation is not fleeting but the result of conscious management and efficient institutions working for the nation and its people.
