Shoman invites school students to apply for the Ibda Award

Khaberni – The Scientific Committee for the Creative Production Award for Children and Adolescents (Ibda’), in its twenty-second session for the year 2026, invites all school students in Jordan to apply for the award which is themed "Creativity knows no bounds".

The committee stated in a declaration today, Wednesday, that the award is designed to enhance the creative output of children and adolescents in literary, performance, artistic, and scientific innovation fields.

The Scientific Committee launched the award on the first of February, noting that it will continue to accept participant applications until April 30th of the coming year.

The award aims to foster a spirit of positive competition among children and adolescents, to showcase their talents, enrich their knowledge, while focusing on developing their capacities and elevating their literary and artistic taste, supporting innovation and scientific thinking in them, and contributing to the preparation of a knowledgeable generation skilled in literary abilities in correct Arabic language.

It also aims to promote a culture of creativity by discovering talented and outstanding children and adolescents at an early stage, while emphasizing on harnessing the students’ creative skills, and their capabilities in expressing their opinions and positions.
The award covers fields of "literary creativity (articles, poetry, and short stories)", "performing arts creativity (music, dance, and singing)", "artistic creativity (drawing, caricature, Arabic calligraphy)", and "scientific innovations (sciences)".

The award targets children and adolescents; Jordanians and non-Jordanians residing in Jordan, within the age groups 8-11 years, 12-15 years, and 16 – 18 years. A new field has been introduced in the award in the field of visual and plastic arts, namely Arabic calligraphy.

The Scientific Committee for the award stipulates not to submit more than one work in a single field of the award, noting that applicants are free to choose the topic they wish to participate in. It also requested that the work be produced by the applicant for the award, that the work has not won other awards, and that the literary outputs are in correct Arabic language.

The Scientific Committee for the award invites the targeted children and adolescents to participate in the award, through registering on the special website of the award (www.shoman.org/Abde).

The (Ibda’) Award comes as a belief from the Abdul Hameed Shoman Foundation, the cultural and social responsibility arm of the Arab Bank, in the role of the new generation of children and adolescents in shaping the future, and to give the talented among them the opportunity to express themselves, to expose them to knowledge and provide them with free and healthy spaces in which they operate, innovate and express themselves.
