Ministry of Environment completes distribution of 600 waste bins and baskets in Irbid

Khaberni - The Ministry of Environment has completed the distribution of 300 metal containers with a capacity of 1100 liters, along with 300 hanging waste baskets, across different municipalities in the Irbid governorate, including recreational sites and tourist and archaeological locations, in collaboration with all the governorate's municipalities.

This step came as an initial phase within the implementation program of the cleanliness strategy to reduce the phenomenon of random waste dumping, carried out to improve the infrastructure and sustain cleanliness, aimed at reducing random waste disposal and enhancing the level of public cleanliness, especially in locations witnessing a high number of visitors.

The ministry confirmed that the distribution process was carried out according to a well-studied field plan developed in cooperation with the Ministry of Local Administration and the ministries and institutions involved in the implementation, to ensure the coverage of the most visited sites and to improve waste collection services in the governorate.

The ministry explained that this campaign was executed within the ministry's plan during the Eid al-Fitr holiday period, in light of the increased turnout to tourist and recreational areas, contributing to environmental preservation and pollution reduction.

The ministry indicated that the work will continue in the upcoming phases to distribute more containers and baskets, covering various governorates of the kingdom, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve the environmental situation and enhance public cleanliness practices.

The ministry called on citizens to commit to using the designated containers and baskets for disposing of waste, and to contribute to the cleanliness of public sites, reaffirming its continued efforts to implement environmental programs and initiatives across the kingdom.
