Khaberni - A brawl that took place in a market in Manavgat, Turkey, which is part of Antalya province, ended in tragedy. Recorded footage from the surveillance cameras showed the terrifying moments when a Turkish man, the son of a small shop owner, shot a customer at close range inside the store, killing him instantly.
Turkish media reported that the murderer, Hakan K., the shop owner's son, had an alcohol level of 3.87 per thousand when he shot Hasan Şimşek, a 19-year-old customer, a fact captured by the store's surveillance cameras.
When the family of the victim Şimşek learned of his death at the scene, they all collapsed in shock, after which his body was handed over to his family following examinations at the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue and was later buried.
According to Turkish media, a verbal altercation between Hakan and Şimşek led to this crime, indicating that financial disputes between the murderer and the victim could be one of the reasons for this crime, the exact causes of which are still unclear as security authorities continue their investigations.
The video clip documenting the crime, which was widely circulated on social media and local media, shows the murderer holding the victim's neck with one hand and shooting him with a handgun in the other, causing the victim to fall to the ground, drenched in his own blood.
The release of the recorded clip coincided with public outrage on social media in Turkey, with dozens demanding that authorities tighten control on private gun possession.
The clip clearly shows the murderer putting his gun calmly on the table and checking the lifeless body of the young man, who was a regular customer at his father's shop.
Following the incident, the Public Security Directorate of Manavgat Police arrested the suspect, Hakan K. After completing the legal proceedings, the suspect, found with the crime weapon, was referred to the judiciary.
