Khaberni - The Jordanian National Union Party follows with great disdain the recent statements issued by the Iranian side against the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, representing a clear violation of the general rules of international law, and an infringement of the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of states, in contradiction to the texts of the United Nations and the foundations of the contemporary international system.
The party confirms that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan exercises its territorial jurisdiction and full national sovereignty over its lands and borders, and that the measures it takes fall within the framework of the right to legitimate defense stipulated in Article (51) of the United Nations Charter, ensuring the protection of its national security and the safety of its citizens from any cross-border threats.
The party also emphasizes that any attempt to involve Jordan in turbulent regional contexts or to impose responsibilities on it that are not based on legal grounds, constitutes a violation of the principle of good neighborliness, and an excess of established diplomatic norms, as well as an encroachment on the principle of equal sovereignty among nations.
The party confirms that any escalatory discourse that includes skepticism or disparagement of Jordan’s role lacks a legal basis, and is inconsistent with the principle of not using force or threatening to use it in international relations, which is a fundamental pillar in the stability of the international system.
As the Jordanian National Union Party reaffirms its absolute support for the Jordanian state and its Hashemite leadership, it appreciates the efforts made by the Jordanian Armed Forces and all security agencies, within the framework of respecting the rule of law and international obligations, to protect the borders of the homeland and to preserve its security and stability.
The party calls for prioritizing the logic of international law, and resorting to the rules regulating relations between states, away from irresponsible statements that could undermine regional security, asserting that respecting the principles of sovereignty, non-interference, and peaceful settlement of disputes is the only way to achieve stability in the region.
