Jordan and France affirm the necessity of stopping the Israeli aggression on Lebanon

Khaberni - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, and French Foreign Minister Jean Noël Baro discussed on Tuesday the serious escalation in the region and prospects for ending it as fundamental steps towards restoring security and stability.

Safadi, during a phone call, renewed condemnation of Iranian attacks on the Kingdom and other Arab and Islamic countries. Baro affirmed his country's solidarity with Jordan.

Safadi and Baro emphasized the importance of activating diplomacy as a way to end the escalation, protect regional and international peace and security, and achieve a solution that ensures respect for international law and the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs.

They reviewed the developments in Lebanon, where Safadi affirmed the necessity of stopping the Israeli aggression on Lebanon, and the need to support Lebanon’s security, stability, and the Lebanese state's sovereignty over its entire territory. Safadi and Baro also supported the Lebanese government's decision to restrict weaponry to the state.

Safadi stressed the importance of the efforts made by France to reach an agreement that would end the escalation.

Safadi and his French counterpart discussed the situation in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, where Safadi warned of the dangers of Israel's continuing illegal actions that undermine all chances of achieving fair peace.

Safadi emphasized the necessity of launching genuine international efforts to stop these actions, including those that violate the right to freedom of worship and prevent Muslims and Christians from practicing their religious rites in their holy sites.

Safadi and Baro confirmed the depth of Jordanian-French partnership relations and the continuation of their joint work to achieve security and stability in the region.
