Khaberni - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced a final exceptional period for handing over unlicensed firearms, ammunition, and explosives, from Monday, 2026-03-23 until the end of official hours on Wednesday, 2026-04-01.
The Ministry confirmed in a statement that during this period, no criminal proceedings will be taken against those who voluntarily hand over their firearms, ammunition, or explosives, in accordance with the legal provisions regulating this matter, and as part of encouraging initiative and cooperation with the competent authorities.
The Ministry also urged everyone to take advantage of this opportunity, due to its impact on enhancing security and protecting the community, and enabling offenders to correct their status.
The Ministry clarified that after the expiry of the specified period, the law will be strictly applied, and all necessary legal measures will be taken, including inspections and enforcement, according to the approved legal frameworks.
It also noted that the handover of weapons, ammunition, and explosives will take place at all police stations across the State of Kuwait.
