Khaberni - Gulf countries have witnessed military escalation since dawn on Tuesday, with the continuation of Iranian missile and drone attacks, targeting Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain, amid intense interception operations by air defense systems.
The official spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defense announced the successful interception and destruction of several drones in the eastern region, while Al Jazeera's correspondent reported that more than 30 drones were shot down in the past seven hours in the same region, according to official data.
In Kuwait, the pace of attacks has noticeably increased, as Al Jazeera's correspondent reported hearing loud explosions in the center and north of the country due to the air defense's interception of hostile targets.
The Kuwaiti military - for the third time in a row within 4 hours - announced that its defense systems intercepted missiles and drones, without disclosing further details.
Partial electricity outage
The repercussions of the attacks in Kuwait extended beyond the military aspect to infrastructure, as the Ministry of Electricity announced that 7 overhead power transmission lines were out of service due to damage from debris from interception operations.
This led to a partial power outage in several areas, while the ministry confirmed that technical teams are coordinating with security authorities to assess the damages and restore power as quickly as possible, with emergency crews continuing to work around the clock to ensure network stability.
In Bahrain, the Ministry of Interior announced the activation of alarm sirens twice within 4 hours, urging citizens and residents to head to the nearest safe place and follow news through official channels amid repeated air threats.
The Bahrain Defense Force Command announced that since the beginning of the war last February, its air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed 147 missiles and 282 Iranian drones.
This escalation is part of an ongoing wave of Iranian attacks on the region for about 25 days, where estimates indicate that at least 4597 missiles and drones have been launched towards 7 Arab countries, most of them Gulf states.
Tehran says its operations target American bases and interests in the region, in response to the US-Israeli military operations against it, but these attacks have in several cases targeted civilian facilities, including airports, power stations, and ports, resulting in casualties and injuries.
