Raids on Two Energy Facilities in Iran

Khaberni - American-Israeli raids targeted two energy facilities in the city of Isfahan in central Iran early Tuesday, according to Fars Agency, hours after US President Donald Trump delayed targeting power stations if Tehran does not open the Strait of Hormuz.

The agency, the only Iranian source to report this news, stated "In the context of the attacks launched by the Zionist and American enemy, the gas management building and the gas pressure reduction station on Kaveh Street in the city of Isfahan were targeted."

The agency added that the facility suffered partial damage.

The agency also reported that another attack targeted "the gas pipeline of the Khorramshahr power station" in southwest Iran.

The agency quoted the governor of the city bordering Iraq stating "a projectile hit the vicinity of the gas pipeline treatment station in Khorramshahr."

The extent of the damage has not been determined yet.

US President Donald Trump announced on Monday a five-day delay in targeting energy stations and other infrastructure in Iran if Tehran does not open the Strait of Hormuz to navigation traffic.

Later, Trump stated that Washington and Tehran have reached "major points of agreement" in negotiations held with a high-ranking Iranian official, who is not the new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei.

While the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, denied any negotiations with the United States, the Iranian Foreign Ministry announced that it had received "messages from friendly countries" regarding an American request for talks.
