Khaberni - Sources mentioned that less than 48 hours before the start of the American-Israeli strike on Iran, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke over the phone with American President Donald Trump about the reasons for launching this kind of complicated and distant war, which the American president had opposed previously.
Both Trump and Netanyahu were aware, through intelligence briefings earlier that week, that the Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and his top aides would soon be meeting at his compound in Tehran, making them vulnerable to a "decapitation strike" - an attack targeting the state's top leaders, often used by Israel, but less so by the United States.
However, new intelligence indicated that the meeting had been moved to Saturday morning instead of Saturday evening, according to three people familiar with the call.
This call had not been disclosed previously.
