Araghchi Irans response to targeting energy infrastructure will be swift and decisive

Khaberni - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Iran's response would be "swift and decisive" in the event of an attack on Iran’s energy infrastructure, in response to U.S. President Donald Trump's threats to attack Iranian power stations.

During a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Araghchi said that the threat to attack Iran's energy infrastructure clearly amounts to "war crime and genocide, and if this threat is carried out, Iran’s response will be swift and decisive," according to the Iranian news agency "IRNA".

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi stated that the insecurity in the strait is a direct result of the "illegal" attacks waged by the United States and Israel against Iran.

Trump stated that he had issued orders to delay any military attacks targeting Iranian power stations for five days, just hours before the deadline which was signaling further escalation in the conflict now in its fourth week.

He wrote in a post on Truth Social that the United States and Iran had "very good and constructive" talks over the past two days concerning a "final and comprehensive resolution to the hostilities in the Middle East".

Trump added that these conversations, which he described as "thorough, detailed, and constructive," would continue throughout the current week, noting that he had directed the Department of War to postpone all military strikes against Iranian energy facilities and infrastructure for a duration of five days, pending the outcomes of the ongoing meetings and discussions.
