Khaberni - Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said on Monday that the Litani River in southern Lebanon should be the border between Israel and Lebanon.
Smotrich added, saying that "just as we control 55% of the Gaza Strip, we must do the same in Lebanon."
Smotrich's statements come while the Israeli air force destroyed the Qaqqaiya Bridge in the Nabatieh district in southern Lebanon at dawn, completely severing it, in a systematic campaign to target bridges and crossings over the Litani River, thus raising the number of targeted bridges since the beginning of the war to four: Qaqqaiya Bridge in the Nabatieh district, Zarariyah in the Saida district, and both the Qasmiyah Bridge on the main road in the Tyre district and on the internal road known as the Kanayat Bridge. These crossings are considered vital arteries that connect the banks of the Litani River, and the bombing has destroyed three of the five main bridges over the river.
In the same context, Channel 12 reported from a high-ranking military source saying that the residents of the north will not be evacuated and we will continue to increase protection for the towns.
