Israeli El Al Airlines Calls for Opening Ramon Airport in Place of Ben Gurion Airport

Khaberni - Israeli airline "El Al" called on Monday for the opening of Ramon Airport in the south of the country as an alternative to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

The company's call comes amid restrictions imposed on travelers at Ben Gurion Airport, due to the war with Iran.

The company stated that the demand to open the airport aims to "maintain air traffic and provide suitable alternatives for travelers".

The request followed the Ministry of Transport's decision to limit the number of departing passengers from Ben Gurion Airport to 50 passengers per flight.

The Israeli military said on Wednesday that Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv was hit by "shrapnel" from an Iranian rocket attack, without specifying the date.

The military censorship lifted the publication ban on this incident on Wednesday, but did not allow disclosing its date.

The website "Ynet", affiliated with the "Yedioth Ahronoth" newspaper, published a photo showing what is believed to be the inside of a small private jet, which had suffered damage and showed signs of a fire.

This is the first time since the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran on February 28 that the Israeli military has announced the main airport of the country being hit.
