Iran Officially Protests to the United Nations Against Jordan

Khaberni -   Iran lodged a strong protest with the United Nations against Jordan, accusing it of "facilitating aggressive actions against its territory". The protest came in a letter sent by the Iranian ambassador and its permanent representative to the international organization, Amir Saeid Iravani, to both the Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the President of the Security Council, on Sunday local time.

The letter contained two main demands from Amman: first, to stop any support or facilitation of what it described as "aggressive actions", and second, to prevent the continued use of its territory, airspace, and facilities in activities targeting the Islamic Republic.

Iravani emphasized that his country "reserves the right to hold Jordan accountable under international law for its actions deemed contrary to the law", warning that continued efforts to distort facts and evade responsibility could lead to a serious escalation threatening international peace and security.

The Iranian ambassador called on the Security Council to address the root causes of the crisis, including what he called the unlawful resort to the use of force and collusion with governments that enabled these actions against Iran, in full compliance with the United Nations Charter.

Iravani confirmed the "direct responsibility of Jordan for the extensive human, material, and infrastructural damage inflicted on Iran as a result of those actions", noting that Iranian authorities are conducting a comprehensive assessment and documentation of all damages including civilian casualties and destruction of vital infrastructure.

The Iranian representative concluded his message by affirming his country's right to pursue all available legal and judicial international avenues to ensure full accountability and compensation for the damages.
