A Flaw Threatening 220 Million iPhone Devices Worldwide

Khaberni- Security researchers from Lookout, Google, and iVerify have unveiled one of the most dangerous cyberattacks that recently struck the iOS system, via a devastating vulnerability named "DarkSword" (Dark Sword), targeting about 220 million iPhone devices globally (equivalent to 14% of the users).

This professional system relies on three families of malicious software known as "GHOST", which succeeded in breaching privacy and stealing passwords, crypto data, and tracking locations through exploiting a series of 6 complex security vulnerabilities. Although the activity began in November 2025 and targeted older versions (between iOS 18.4 and 18.7), experts warn of the potential impact on early versions of iOS 26, emphasizing the necessity for an immediate update to version iOS 26.3.1 or enabling "Lockdown Mode" to counteract this sophisticated engineering threat.
