Khaberni - Wide areas of the Jordanian desert witnessed heavy and widespread rainfall over the past few days, resulting in the flow of valleys and floods in several low-lying areas. These rains contributed to the refilling of the Azraq Oasis with water anew, in a scene that recalled its historical image as one of the most important water oases in the eastern part of the kingdom.
Temporary water lakes formed in various parts of the desert, due to the accumulation of rainwater and floods, which positively reflected on the vegetative cover and wildlife in the area, as well as helped in improving the surface water reserve.
This scene is relatively rare, as the oasis needs wide and heavy rainfall to regain its water activity, making this rainy condition one of the most prominent cases that revived the oasis and demonstrated the extension of water bodies in the Jordanian desert.
