Khaberni - In response to calls that spread on social media, demanding the dismissal of a policeman who appeared in a video taking a bribe, the authorities took action.
Immediate termination of service
The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced that it has taken deterrent measures against the policeman and terminated his service immediately.
A security source stated that the ministry examined the video clip and identified the person appearing in it, confirming that he is a member of the police force.
He added that the necessary measures were taken against him immediately by dismissing him from work.
It was also noted that the decision came after it was clear that the policeman had committed severe behavioral errors that contradict the requirements of his duty.

It should be mentioned that the incident dates back to when a policeman appeared in a video asking for a bribe in exchange for allowing an Australian athlete to enter the country with his equipment.
After the Australian athlete posted the details on social media, calls spread to hold the offending policeman accountable.
The Australian's post documented a conversation between him and the policeman at the Taba border crossing in Southern Sinai, which included the tourist giving a monetary amount to the accused in exchange for completing some procedures related to his passport and equipment, causing widespread outrage.
