Lebanese President Israels targeting of infrastructure is a serious escalation and a precursor to a ground invasion

Khaberni - Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned today, Sunday, the Israeli raids that targeted infrastructure and vital facilities in southern Lebanon and destroyed them, especially the Al Qasimiyah bridge over the Litani River and other bridges.
The Lebanese president stated that these attacks constitute a serious escalation and a blatant violation of Lebanon's sovereignty, and are considered a precursor to a ground invasion, which Lebanon has long warned against through diplomatic channels.
He added that these approaches reflect a dangerous tendency towards systematic destruction of infrastructure and civil facilities, and residential areas in Lebanese villages, amounting to a policy of collective punishment against civilians, which is unacceptable, condemnable, unjustified, and explicitly violates the rules of international humanitarian law prohibiting the targeting of civilians and their essential facilities.
Aoun called on the international community to take their responsibilities and to take immediate actions to deter Israel from carrying out this attack.
