Coalition Establishment Drone strikes hit hospital and market in Sudan Dozens of victims

Khaberni - The Sudan Establishment Coalition «Establishment» announced that a drone attack targeted the Daein Teaching Hospital on the evening of the first day of Eid al-Fitr, leading to dozens of deaths and injuries, and pointed out that «the Muslim Brotherhood army and its allied militias», classified as a terrorist; stand behind the attack, in an incident considered a new war crime added to the record of violations in the country.

The coalition explained that the armed drone targeted the hospital in a blatant violation of international laws and humanitarian norms, resulting in the death of 39 civilians, including 12 children and 6 women who were inside the children's and maternity ward, while the rest of the victims were male patients and their relatives.

The statement referred to 78 people injured in the attack, most of them seriously, at a time when assessment operations are still ongoing amid complex humanitarian conditions.

The coalition added that the attacks were not limited to the city of Daein, as the same army and its militias launched drone strikes on civilians in the city of Al Fashir, targeting specifically the local market area, resulting in 23 deaths and 35 injuries, while rescue and assessment operations continue.

Thus, the total number of victims of these attacks, according to the statement, rose to 62 dead and 113 injured on a day that was supposed to be a day of peace and celebration on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

The coalition considered the targeting of medical facilities and innocent civilians to constitute a full war crime, reflecting the criminal nature of the attackers who do not hesitate to shed the blood of the innocent.

The statement criticized the silence of the international community and its inaction, considering that the continuation of this silence amounts to a green light allowing the continuation of these acts, raising questions about the extent of the international community's commitment to protecting civilians in Sudan.

The coalition also emphasized that the classification of the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization should extend to all its wings, including its military apparatus responsible – according to the statement – for organizing these attacks, and not just the brigades affiliated with it, indicating that the Muslim Brotherhood is classified as a terrorist organization by the United States of America.

The Sudan Establishment Coalition confirmed that this crime «will not pass without response», indicating that its forces will deal decisively with the perpetrators of the crimes from the army and militias allied with it in proportion to the seriousness of what happened.

At the same time, the statement stressed that these violations will not lead to the spread of hatred or racial discrimination among the components of the Sudanese people, confirming the commitment to confront what it described as «the cancer of the Muslim Brotherhood and its army and militias» only.

The coalition concluded its statement by praying for mercy and forgiveness for the victims, and wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
