Death of Two Individuals Due to Heavy Thunderstorms in the Sultanate of Oman

Khaberni - Two individuals died last Saturday due to heavy thunderstorms that affected several governorates in the Sultanate of Oman.

The Civil Defense and Ambulance Authority reported that its teams began responding, since noon yesterday, to 14 incidents of people trapped in vehicles in wadi channels and water gatherings, where 9 people were rescued, while two deaths were recorded.

The National Center for Early Warning pointed to multiple risks from the continued likelihood of thunderstorm rainfall today, Sunday, on several governorates, which may be accompanied by hail and active winds.

It is expected that the effects will include the governorates of Al Buraimi, North and South Al Batinah, Al Dhahirah, Al Dakhiliyah, Muscat, in addition to parts of North and South Ash Sharqiyah.
