Khaberni - Dutchman Arne Slot, the technical manager of Liverpool, expressed his regret about his team's loss to their host Brighton with a score of 1-2 today, Saturday, as part of Round 31 of the English Premier League football competition.
Slot commented on the second goal scored by Brighton's striker Danny Welbeck against Liverpool saying: "There was a misunderstanding in Brighton's defense that caused our goal, while the two goals we conceded were from crosses, and we could have avoided that."
He added: "We acted well in the goal we scored because we played straightforwardly, and in the second half, I expected Brighton's second goal to be offside, but I was mistaken."
Slot spoke about the circumstances of the match and said: "We had to change something because Hugo Ekitike came out (injured in the 8th minute) and Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak were not available to participate (due to injury), and we had to involve a player in an unfamiliar position, which is something we have done a lot this season."
This has become the third consecutive match in the English Premier League in which Liverpool has failed to win, noting that Liverpool's last league victory dates back to February 28 when they defeated West Ham with a score of 5-2.
With this loss, Liverpool's points froze at 49 in the fifth position, two points behind the places qualifying for next season's Champions League.
