Turkey Escalation in the Gulf may continue for two or three weeks

Khaberni - Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated on Saturday that the escalation in the Gulf could continue for at least another two to three weeks, clarifying that the American stance is decisive.

The official "TRT Haber" TV channel quoted the minister as saying, "There are indications that the war in the Gulf will continue for two to three more weeks".

He added, "The American position is undoubtedly the decisive factor, and Israel will try to influence the United States and prevent reaching a ceasefire or truce in the near future".

The Turkish Foreign Minister confirmed that "the American and Israeli positions are increasingly diverging, which also contributes to prolonging the conflict", pointing out that "negotiations are unlikely at the present time".

The Turkish Foreign Minister declared, "Nevertheless, we cannot rule out the possibility of reaching a short truce, during which negotiations may begin, but if no result is achieved, the war will resume... Israel pursues a policy of prolonging the war as much as possible to inflict as much damage on Iran as possible".

He explained that "Ankara sees that Israel is the one who does not want peace".

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump earlier announced that the United States is considering phasing out its military operations against Iran, indicating that the stated goals are nearing achievement.

The American-Israeli war against Iran continues, as it entered its 22nd day, and while Washington and Tel Aviv continue striking Iranian positions and assassinating leaders, Tehran continues to launch missile and drone strikes, in addition to closing the Strait of Hormuz.
