Khaberni - The Swiss government announced that it will not grant any new licenses for the export of military equipment to the countries involved in the conflict, reaffirming its commitment to the principle of neutrality.
Switzerland has stated that it will not allow arms exports to the United States as long as Washington continues its ongoing military campaign against Iran, according to the newspaper «Politico».
The government clarified that it will not approve any new licenses for the export of military equipment to the countries involved in the conflict, based on its commitment to neutrality.
It also pointed out that it has not issued any new licenses for arms exports to the United States since Washington and Israel launched their strikes on Tehran on February 28.
It added that the existing licenses for arms exports to the United States could continue, as they are currently not linked to the «war», but they will remain under review in case of any conflict with Swiss neutrality laws.
It noted that exports of dual-use goods and other military materials, as well as goods subject to sanctions imposed on Iran, will also remain under review.
The Swiss government confirmed that it has not granted licenses to export arms to Israel or Iran for «several years».
