10 Things that are often postponed including being kind to oneself

Khaberni - If one always sits idle until they feel fully prepared for the journey, it's likely they will stay that way their entire life. According to what was stated in a report published by "Marc & Angel Hacklife", one should, most of the time, get up and move forward, and not wait to feel more confident before taking the next step.

Taking the next step is what builds confidence gradually. There are 10 things that are postponed contrary to what is expected, as follows:

1. Exploring new things
Each person sees the world differently from others. Therefore, if a person spends all their free time following trends and doing what everyone else does, they miss out on a lot. They should try what resonates with their soul, or what tempts them to move forward, and then go for it. A person can also search for everything they can, like looking for other people who love it, too.

2. Taking any meaningful action
Some people wait all day for five o’clock, all week for Friday, all year for the next vacation, and all their lives for happiness. In return, they must take responsibility for their lives and control every moment and give up the habit of waiting aimlessly.

3. Self-confidence to face life challenges
Facing difficulties does not mean one is a failure; every great success demands some kind of worthy struggle to achieve. Therefore, one should reward themselves along the way. They must remind themselves to do their best and that sometimes it requires a series of small setbacks to achieve an undeniable breakthrough.

4. Appreciating what's available
Some people take for granted aspects of their lives that deserve their presence and gratitude. But they should remember that nothing in life is permanent or guaranteed forever. Living in the present is a fundamental concept, but like most simple things, many find a way to complicate it. Thus, they should review themselves as there is nothing complex in learning to notice one's life and appreciating it as it is.

5. Practicing kindness
When a person grows older and looks back at their life, they will inevitably forget many things that seemed very important when they were younger. They probably won't remember their high school GPA. They will look at their old classmates on Facebook or Instagram (or any other social network) and wonder why they liked them once. And they will find it difficult to remember why they let some people from their past control them. But they will never forget the people who were truly kind—those who helped them when they were hurt and loved them even when they felt undeserving of love.

6. Being kind to oneself
It is important for one to know how wonderful they are. They can really look into the mirror and be kind to themselves because what they see in the mirror is often what they see in the world. Their disappointment in others often reflects their disappointment in themselves. Their acceptance of others often reflects their acceptance of themselves. Their ability to see potential in others often reflects their ability to see potential in themselves. And their patience with others is a reflection of their patience with themselves.

7. Accepting the truth
Many prefer sweet lies to hard truths, though it is better to be hurt by the truth rather than living in deceitful comfort. Truth is better than a lie, which is a cumulative process, so care should be taken. What starts as a small, seemingly innocent lie (perhaps even with the intention of not hurting anyone) often turns into a worsening false reality.

8. Setting healthy boundaries
The mind is one's sanctuary; they should not allow others' negative beliefs to dominate it. Nor should they let others breach it. They must take good care of their personal boundaries and what they allow themselves to absorb from others. And if there is someone in one's life who consistently acts with disrespect, they should confront that person. If things do not change, they should limit the time and influence that person has in their life. One needs people in their life who challenge them respectfully, to see things from new angles, but they do not need to be constantly frustrated by those who do not respect them.

9. Folding past chapters
One engages in various experiences in their life with different people, some of whom may not necessarily be permanent partners, and that is not a bad thing. Life is a series of stories, and how these stories intertwine is wonderful. Sometimes, having some people in one's life is part of the whole story, and other times it may be limited to a chapter or two. It requires courage to know when that chapter is over, then fold the page.

10. Embracing life and being in harmony with it
Some worry about things they cannot change while they could simply live and accept reality while continuing to strive and grow. Life is a long journey through which one can seize opportunities, lose and find happiness, cherish memories, and learn from experiences. One should stop worrying, questioning, and doubting every step they take.
