Eid of the Birth of the Spirit and a Message of Peace
Author: الأستاذ الدكتور أمجد الفاهوم

Ramadan comes each year as a message of mercy that transcends the bounds of time, awakening in people what has been quieted under the noise of life, and it rearranges the priorities between the heart, mind, and spirit. In this month, humans do not only abstain from food and drink, but they undergo a much deeper experience, an experience of abstaining from harshness, selfishness, and all that weighs down the soul and distances it from its original purity.

Ramadan offers a rare opportunity for self-examination, standing in front of the mirror of conscience without masks and asking ourselves honestly how we can be better and how we can repair the harm carried by days. With each bow, each prayer, and each charity, the layers of inner fatigue start to fade, and a new sensation of lightness and tranquility is born within us. It is a true purifying journey that restores the soul's purity and plants within it the meanings of patience, contentment, and certainty.

The greatest images of this month are manifested in acts of kindness and charity, where giving transforms from a duty to a passion and from a habit to an identity. Hands are extended with help, hearts are illuminated with love, and people feel they are part of a single human fabric that is incomplete without their solidarity and compassion. In Ramadan, we learn that goodness is not just a fleeting act but a way of life, and that mercy is not an option but a responsibility.

And when Eid comes around, it is not just a festive occasion, but it carries with it the spiritual culmination of this journey. It is an internal declaration that the soul has been purified and that the heart has grown closer to its humanity. Eid is the joy of a hidden achievement, the joy of triumphing over oneself, and the joy of returning to the pure nature we were created with.

However, this Eid comes at a time when disturbances are multiplying, the voices of war are rising, and pain weighs heavily on many hearts. Here, the value of Eid grows not as individual joy but as a collective message reminding us that humanity is stronger than conflicts and that peace is not a distant dream but a choice we must hold onto despite all challenges.

The spirit of Ramadan, which nurtured us on patience and compassion, extends beyond to become a permanent behavior in our lives. The true Eid is not in its manifestations but in our ability to carry this purity into our coming days and to translate what we have learned into attitudes that elevate the status of love, extinguish the flame of hatred, and open windows of hope in a weary world.

Let's make this Eid a new beginning, not the end of a holy month, a beginning for hearts more merciful, words kinder, and actions more just. And let's make our prayers on this blessed day a covenant that we will be advocates of peace and ambassadors of love, and that each from their position will contribute to building a world worth living in.

Happy New Year

And may God make your Eid joyous always and your hearts filled with light

And our homelands safe and peaceful, dominated by goodness and peace.
