Iraq reduces Basra oil production by 73

Khaberni  - The Iraqi Oil Minister Haiyan Abdul Ghani said on Friday that crude production from the Basra Oil Company decreased from 3.3 million barrels per day to 900 thousand (about 73%) since the export halt from the southern ports.

The ministry added in a statement that the production quantities are pumped to operate the refineries.

Sources in the Ministry of Oil mentioned that Iraq declared force majeure in all oil fields operated by foreign oil companies.

This came while military operations in the region have disrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, preventing most of Iraq's crude oil exports.
