Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that specialized teams from Al-Mafraq Civil Defense Directorate assisted by the river rescue team under the command of the international search and rescue team dealt today with a report of a fall involving a 13-year-old child of Arab nationality into a stream in the Zaatari area in Al-Mafraq governorate.
The spokesperson also clarified that the specialized diving teams were able to find the child after search and inspection operations within the stream covering approximately 8 km. Meanwhile, ambulance crews transported the deceased to the nearest hospital, and an investigation into the incident has been initiated.
The Public Security Directorate reiterates its warnings of the necessity to stay away from the edges of valleys and areas where torrents form, and in cases of rising water levels on roads, not to risk crossing them, whether by vehicles or on foot.
