Khaberni - The spokesman for the General Security Directorate said that the Anti-Narcotics Department implemented a broad series of security campaigns and quality raids on a number of drug dealers and promoters in various regions of the kingdom during its daily efforts to pursue all forms of dealing with narcotics.
The spokesman confirmed that one of the most prominent security campaigns was east of the capital, where 12 individuals involved in drug trafficking and promotion were arrested, and quantities of those narcotics were seized.
Meanwhile, another campaign was carried out in southern Amman which also led to the arrest of 8 individuals involved in drug trafficking and promotion, with quantities of narcotics and firearms seized in their possession.
Regarding one of the most prominent cases dealt with as well, which was in the capital, a special team from the Anti-Narcotics Department managed to thwart an attempt by two individuals to manufacture the drug methamphetamine east of the capital. Following intelligence about their activities, surveillance was imposed on the suspects before raiding them as they began their manufacturing attempt, where the apartment used was raided, the suspects were arrested, and quantities of various chemicals used in the production of lethal methamphetamine, along with a set of chemical equations, were seized inside the apartment.
In the Eastern Badia, 100,000 narcotic pills were seized in a desert area after one of the smugglers hid them there following his arrest and the materials were seized based on his information, and in the Ruwaished area, a drug smuggler was also apprehended after raiding his home where 50,000 narcotic pills were found.
In the Central Badia, one of the drug dealers was monitored, arrested, and found in his home in a secret hideout with 10 kilograms of marijuana. In Irbid Governorate, after specially monitoring an individual involved with regional gangs for drug smuggling, he was raided and arrested after it was confirmed he possessed quantities of narcotics with 100,000 narcotic pills seized in his possession.
Three drug dealers promoting narcotics in Madaba Governorate used a tent to offer and sell narcotics, where they were arrested and found in their possession were 15 kilograms of hashish, 2000 narcotic pills, and a firearm.
In the Central Badia, three drug promoters were arrested with 5000 narcotic pills found in their possession, and in the western part of Balqa, sites hosting four individuals, drug dealers, were raided and found in their possession were 13 kilograms of hashish and quantities of marijuana.
A drug promoter in Irbid Governorate was raided and found in his possession were 5 kilograms of hashish and 500 narcotic pills, and in central Amman, 14 kilograms of hashish was seized from a drug dealer after raiding him and arresting him.
And in the last of the cases, which was in Madaba Governorate, one of the drug dealers was arrested with 9 kilograms of hashish in his possession.
