Reuters Targeting of Samref Refinery belonging to Aramco in Yanbu Port Saudi Arabia

Khaberni - A knowledgeable source in the oil sector reported today, Thursday, that the "Saudi Aramco Mobil Samref" refinery was subjected to an aerial attack at the Saudi port of Yanbu overlooking the Red Sea.
The source mentioned that the impact of the attack was limited, indicating that the damages were confined to secondary facilities without disrupting production operations.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard issued an evacuation warning for a number of oil facilities in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar, including the "Samref" refinery, which is a joint venture between "Aramco" Saudi and "Exxon Mobil".

This was in response to strikes targeting the infrastructure for energy in "South Pars" and "Assaluyeh".

Yanbu port in Saudi Arabia is currently the sole export gateway for crude oil exports from the Gulf countries, as Iran has effectively closed the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway it shares with the Sultanate of Oman, through which usually five percent of global oil supplies pass.
