Khaberni - The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior announced in a security statement that the State Security Agency had succeeded in thwarting a plan for a terrorist operation that was targeting vital facilities in the country.
The Ministry explained that the preemptive operation resulted in the arrest of 10 Kuwaiti citizens affiliated with the banned organization "Hezbollah", who were working within an organized cell to undermine the security and stability of the nation.
According to the Interior's statement, preliminary investigations revealed the detainees' involvement in the crime of "espionage with foreign entities", where they provided those entities with precise coordinates of the locations and vital facilities targeted inside the State of Kuwait.
This arrest is a strong blow to security penetration attempts, especially in the context of the explosive regional conditions the area is experiencing.
The Ministry assured that the State Security men and all sectors of the Interior stand guard against anyone attempting to undermine Kuwait's sovereignty, emphasizing that all suspects have been referred to the competent authorities for taking stringent legal actions against them.
The Ministry called on citizens to cooperate with the security forces to protect the domestic front from any transnational terrorist threats.
