Khaberni - NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced on Wednesday that member states are discussing the "best way" to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which usually carries a large part of the global oil supply.
Rutte said at a press conference during a visit to NATO maneuvers in northern Norway, "I am in contact with many allies. We all agree, of course, on the necessity to reopen the strait. What I know is that the allies are working together, discussing how to do it, and what the best way is."
US President Donald Trump urged his allies to send warships to escort oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has almost completely closed off since the beginning of the US-Israeli war on it.
