Khaberni - The UAE Presidential Court announced on Wednesday evening that the sighting of the crescent moon of Shawwal has not been confirmed this evening.
The announcement was based on the report submitted by the "Shawwal Moon Sighting Committee for the year 1447AH" formed under the UAE Fatwa Council, which convened its meeting in this regard on Wednesday evening in the capital Abu Dhabi on the date: 29 Ramadan 1447AH, corresponding to March 18, 2026AD, and after deliberation of the reports and results of the sighting across the UAE.
Thus, tomorrow, Thursday, March 19, 2026, will be the completion of the blessed month of Ramadan for the year 1447AH, and Friday, March 20, 2026AD will be the beginning of the month of Shawwal 1447AH, and the first day of the blessed Eid al-Fitr in the UAE.
On this blessed occasion, the chairman and members of the committee extend the highest expressions of congratulations and blessings to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and to his brother Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and to their brothers, the members of the Supreme Council of the Federation, rulers of the Emirates, and to Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, President of the Presidential Court, and to Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and to the crown princes and to the people of the United Arab Emirates, and to the entire world, and we ask Allah Almighty to return it to us and our beloved country with blessings, goodness, joy, and gratitude to Allah, Lord of the Worlds.
