Khaberni - Director Mohamed Abdelsalam revealed details about the production of the series “Ali Clay”, explaining the team's bets on folk drama and plans for character development.

Director Mohamed Abdelsalam spoke about the behind-the-scenes of the series "Ali Clay", starring Ahmed El Awadi, affirming that the work resulted from early planning and a clear desire to present an experience that surpasses what was achieved in previous works.

Abdelsalam explained that the idea for the series started about a year ago, following the success of the previous work, where the team held intensive sessions to agree on the new dramatic form, indicating that they settled from the beginning on presenting a work that belongs to folk drama, due to its elements that are close to the audience, such as love stories, conflicts, and everyday life details.

He pointed out that the biggest challenge was to develop the characters in a different way, so they do not resemble what was previously presented, while maintaining the spirit of the folk work that the audience expects, especially from its stars, led by Ahmed El Awadi, whom he described as a successful partner and a star who is keen to present the best without compromise.

Regarding the choice of heroes, the director clarified that the process is coordinated with the production company, in a way that serves the work, pointing out the care to present new faces alongside the stars, to achieve diversity and lend a degree of realism to the events.

Abdelsalam talked about the participation of actress Rahma Mohsen, affirming that she delivered an impressive performance despite undergoing a significant experience, explaining that she succeeded in balancing her personal life and work, despite the pressures that coincided with the broadcasting of the series. He also praised the experience of the actress Yara, who stood out in a previous work, which encouraged him to give her more space during this work.

He also touched on the participation of actress Dora, explaining that she faced a different challenge through presenting a role far from her usual image, where she portrayed a character with complex human dimensions, which he considered an important addition to the work.

Regarding the rumors about the ending of the series, Abdelsalam denied any modifications, affirming that the ending was agreed upon from the initial writing stages, and no changes occurred during filming.

In terms of handling style, he pointed to a level of dramatic exaggeration, but he explained that it reflects a reality experienced by society, indicating that what was previously seen as exaggeration has become close to reality given the increasing psychological pressures.

The director confirmed that the feedback, whether positive or negative, is appreciated, pointing out the importance of listening to the audience's opinions and benefiting from them in future works.

He concluded his statements by affirming that "Ali Clay" represents an important milestone in his career and a continuation of previous successes, thanks to a comprehensive team that strove to present the best it had.
