Khaberni - Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel criticized on Tuesday the "almost daily" threats posed by American President Donald Trump against Cuba, in the context of the ongoing oil blockade that burdens the country.
Díaz-Canel wrote in a statement on X "In the face of the worst scenarios, Cuba possesses one guarantee: any foreign aggressor will face impregnable resistance."
Energy sector officials said that Cuba had reconnected its electrical grid on Tuesday and restarted its largest fuel-powered power plant, putting an end to the nationwide power outage that lasted for more than 29 hours amid an American blockade aimed at cutting off fuel supplies to the island.
After the country's population of 10 million spent the night in darkness, the national electricity grid of the Caribbean island was fully operational again. However, officials said that electricity shortages may continue due to insufficient power generation.
In addition to cutting off oil sales to Cuba, American President Donald Trump escalated his statements against the communist-ruled island, saying on Monday that he could do anything he wanted with it.
Cuba has not yet identified the cause of the nationwide power outage on Monday, the first of its kind since the United States cut off Venezuelan oil supplies to it and threatened to impose tariffs on countries that ship fuel to the island nation.
