Khaberni - Arsenal have qualified for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League, after defeating their guest Bayer Leverkusen with two goals to none, this Tuesday evening, in the match held at the Emirates Stadium as part of the round of 16 second leg.
Ebirechi Eze scored the Arsenal double in the 36th minute, and Declan Rice scored in the 63rd minute.
Arsenal advanced to the quarter-finals, benefiting from their draw in the first leg in Germany at the BayArena with a score of (1-1).
The London team will meet Sporting Lisbon in the quarter-finals, after managing a historic comeback against Bodo/Glimt, winning 5-0 after losing the first leg in Norway with a score of (0-3).
Since Arsenal's return to the Champions League for the 2023-2024 season after a five-year absence, the London team has reached the quarter-finals for the third consecutive time, having been eliminated at this stage by Bayern Munich in the first season, and reached the semi-finals last season before losing to Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal hopes to go far in the Champions League this season and end their curse with the trophy, which they have never won before, satisfied with reaching the final in the 2005-2006 season before losing to Barcelona.
