Khaberni - Eliana Jeannine, the director of the Tourism Restaurants Association, said on Tuesday that there are restaurants affected by the repercussions of the Iran war, especially from one to three-star categories, in addition to the restaurants outside Amman.
Jeannine explained to "Al Mamlaka" channel that the restaurants sector is one of the sectors that always recovers when calm returns to the region and tourism resumes.
She pointed out that the sector is capable of overcoming all stages, but there needs to be early intervention.
Recent survey results conducted by the Tourism Restaurants Association, which included more than 200 establishments in the restaurant sector, showed that about 98% of participants confirmed a decline in sales, and 86% of the restaurants reported a significant decrease, while 91% of the restaurants noted an increase in operational costs to varying degrees.
The results also showed that about 80% of the restaurants were affected in terms of group bookings and events, and many participants indicated a decrease in the number of customers, along with a decline in spending rates within the restaurants, reflecting a clear change in consumer behavior in the face of economic uncertainty.
