Khaberni - Joe Kent, director of the U.S. National Center for Counterterrorism, announced his resignation from his position, against the background of his opposition to the ongoing war on Iran.
He said in a statement on the "X" platform: "After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Center for Counterterrorism, effective today".
He continued: "I cannot, in good conscience, support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran has not posed an imminent threat to our country, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful lobby in the United States."
