Afghanistan reports 400 killed in Pakistani raid on hospital

Khaberni  - The Deputy Spokesperson for the Afghan government confirmed the death of 400 people and the injury of 250 in a raid conducted by Pakistani forces on a hospital in the capital Kabul.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani military source stated that the fighter jets conducted strikes on military sites and infrastructures along with an ammunition depot at two locations in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan.

These statements, which were issued by both sides in the early hours of this Tuesday local time, reflect a new wave of escalation in recent weeks between the neighboring countries, including air strikes and border clashes.

Earlier on Monday evening, an Al Jazeera correspondent reported - that the spokesperson for the Afghan government, Zabihullah Mujahid, stated that Pakistani warplanes conducted air strikes targeting areas in four Afghan states, in addition to shelling in the Afghan capital Kabul, resulting in casualties and injuries.

Mujahid added that Pakistani aviation also targeted a fuel tank owned by the Afghan airline near Kandahar Airport.

Meanwhile, security sources stated that the Afghan forces launched a drone attack on a military fort in Kohat city, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan, in response to the raids conducted by the Pakistani forces last night, according to Al Jazeera.

The sources added that the attack targeted soldiers' living sites, armaments, and ammunition storages, as well as precisely hit the operations command center and the office of the fort’s commander, which are located about two kilometers from the place.
