Head of Pharmacists Drug quantities in Jordan are sufficient for several months

Khaberni - The head of pharmacists Zaid Kilani confirmed on Monday that the kingdom's stock of medicines is sufficient for several months and that there are measures to ensure no disruption in medicine supply.

Kilani reassured during a broadcast on "The Kingdom" channel, stating that there is a local industry capable of covering up to 80% of Jordan's needs for "important" medicines, pointing to the existence of more than 20 pharmaceutical factories in Jordan.

He mentioned that medicines are small goods that can be shipped by airplanes if necessary.

He emphasized that there are practical measures and steps being taken to ensure the continuous supply of important and vital medicines, especially chronic medications.

He pointed out that the proportion of medicines imported from the Gulf is small, and that most medicines are imported from Europe.

The General Secretary of the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Producers, Hanan Al-Suboul, confirmed that Jordanian pharmaceutical factories continue to produce to meet local market needs, and that the stock of locally manufactured medicines is reassuring and sufficient for at least 6 months, reflecting the national pharmaceutical industry's capacity to support pharmaceutical security in the kingdom.

Thamer Obeidat, the General Secretary of the Association of Pharmaceutical Warehouse Owners, explained that the stock of imported medicines in the local market is also available for at least 6 months, noting that the warehouses continue to work on securing supplies and ensuring the smooth supply of medicine to various health sectors.

He added that there is close cooperation with the official entities in the health sector to ensure the continuity of medicine availability in the Jordanian market and to maintain pharmaceutical security under all circumstances.

In turn, Taysir Abu Sheikha, the head of the Syndicate of Medical, Scientific, and Laboratory Materials, confirmed that the stock of medical supplies and laboratory materials is available for more than 6 months, pointing to the stability of supply and distribution operations in the local market thanks to ongoing coordination between concerned entities, as well as daily communication with the importing companies of medical supplies and devices to facilitate shipping and clearance processes for the safe and quick arrival of these materials.
