Khaberni - Representing His Majesty King Abdullah II, His Royal Highness Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, the Crown Prince, sponsored on Sunday the final ceremony of the local Hashemite competition for male Qur'an memorization and recitation, in its 33rd session, at the mosque of the late by the will of Allah, King Hussein bin Talal, may Allah bless his soul.
The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Sanctities, Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalayleh, said in his speech that the competition, organized annually by the ministry, aligns with the Hashemite approach which carries the legacy connected to the Prophet, peace be upon him, particularly concerning the Book of Allah and the care and honor of its memorizers.
At the end of the ceremony, His Highness the Crown Prince awarded certificates of appreciation to the winners, who numbered 35 out of 4,000 participants this year, and to the seven members of the judging panel.
The ceremony was attended by a number of senior civil and military officials, grand muftis, judges of Sharia law, and imams and preachers.
