Army Radio Netanyahus Envoy Visited Saudi Arabia to Discuss Settlement with Lebanon

Khaberni - Israeli Army Radio reported that "Israeli Prime Minister's envoy Ron Dermer recently visited Saudi Arabia and met with senior officials there to discuss a settlement with Lebanon".

The radio station pointed out that "the proposed formula includes a settlement between Israel and Lebanon that transforms Hezbollah into a disarmed political movement".

It mentioned that "Lebanon is awaiting Israeli approval to begin direct talks in a third country".

Yesterday, media outlets reported the initiation of consultations among the leaders of the three authorities in Lebanon – the presidency, the government, and the parliament – about forming a negotiation delegation with Israel, noting that the Speaker of the Parliament, Nabih Berri, did not approve the participation of a representative from the Shiite duo in the delegation.

This came after Lebanese President Joseph Aoun announced the day before yesterday his readiness to negotiate to stop the war with Israel, indicating that the Israeli side had not yet responded to this approach.

During his meeting with the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Aoun emphasized the need to stop Israeli attacks and achieve a ceasefire, as a precursor to discussing the next steps according to the initiative he launched.

A week ago, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed that the government is making daily efforts to muster Arab and international support to stop the war, emphasizing that the cessation of fighting must be immediate.
