Khaberni - The Mohammad Al-Hammouri Forum for Cultural Development held a dialogue session hosting former Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, as part of the series of sessions "The Question of Resilience and Renaissance."
Judeh stated that Jordan's supreme interest, its security, safety, territorial integrity, and the welfare of its citizens have the highest priority over any other. During his hosting at the forum, he added that Jordan engaged in wars to secure its interests and the interests of the Arab nation, even those wars it fought against its own convictions.
He pointed out that Jordan never fails its nation or its citizens, emphasizing that the interest of Jordan is not to be targeted as a nation in regional wars. He affirmed that he would always defend its lands and skies, noting that Jordan's interests are linked with the Palestinian people's right to establish their independent state on their national soil, and that the current war in the region has marginalized the Palestinian issue.
Judeh considered that the war has pushed the Palestinian cause towards oblivion, and that targeting Jordan and the Gulf states and neighboring countries is part of an Iranian war against the United States and Israel.
He added that the United States had toned down its rhetoric about the current war, as initially, its rhetoric was centered on the necessity of regime change in Iran, but then the intensity of its rhetoric decreased to eliminating Iran's military capabilities, while the discourse in Israel shifted from regime change to creating a conducive environment for such a change.
He noted that America and Israel have mentioned in some of their discussions goals planned for 47 years ago.
It is noted that the Mohammad Al-Hammouri Forum for Cultural Development is a cultural institution dedicated to revitalizing the cultural movement and enriching the public space as well as focusing currently on conducting focused sessions and public sessions on political, intellectual, and cultural issues, aiming to open spaces for public discussion and enhance awareness and knowledge about national and regional issues.
