Khaberni - Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said today, Saturday, that the (Terrafab) project for manufacturing AI chips will be launched within seven days.
Musk mentioned last year that Tesla would probably have to build a "massive chip factory" to manufacture AI chips.
Tesla is designing the fifth generation artificial intelligence chip to support its ambitions in the realm of autonomous driving, and Musk showcased potential manufacturing plans at the company's annual meeting last year.
Musk said at that time that the electric car manufacturer might collaborate with Intel, adding: "We might do something with Intel".
He continued, "We haven't signed any agreement, but it might be worth having discussions with Intel".
Tesla has not yet responded to a Reuters request for more details about the project.
