Exceptional Ambulance for a 240 kg Syrian Woman in Istanbul

Khaberni - Istanbul witnessed an exceptional ambulance operation for a young Syrian woman residing on the seventh floor but weighing 240 kilograms, and her descent required the use of a crane and emergency team.

A video clip showed the details of the ambulance operation for Aisha Muadh (27 years old), who lives in the Sultan Ghazi area in Istanbul and suffered from a health crisis requiring her transfer to the hospital.

The ambulance team enlisted help from fire and civil defense teams to accomplish the task, which required the removal of a window from the apartment to facilitate the patient's extraction.

Another group of paramedics transferred the patient towards a large crane basket installed at the window, before successfully lowering the patient.

The young woman underwent first aid at the site, as she suffers from breathing difficulties and low oxygen levels, before being transported to a hospital in Istanbul.

Turkish media stated that the young woman suffers from severe obesity and her weight increased in the past two years, which prevented her from working and staying at home.

They added that Aisha has a brother who also suffers from severe obesity, and he lives with her in the same home without any relatives in the city.

Istanbul hosts about half a million Syrian refugees out of approximately 2.5 million Syrians living in Turkey, who have come progressively since 2011, with many of them born in the host country.
