Khaberni - Sami Kamel Al-Dawood, Chairman of the Jordan Post Board, confirmed that the launch of the Digital Postal Box project aligns with the royal directives and the vision for economic updating, and the postal plans and projects that consider it essential to keep pace with technological advancement and digital transformation, contributing to building an integrated and sustainable digital economy, enhancing postal and logistical services, as well as parcel reception, delivery operations, and e-commerce.
Al-Dawood added that this national project, launched by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, in collaboration with the Jordanian Geographic Center, represents a strategic step towards establishing an integrated national database for digital postal addresses and building an advanced and secure digital infrastructure that contributes to the development of governmental services and the digital economy, and enhances the quality, efficiency, and speed of services provided to citizens across the kingdom.
Henadi Al-Tayeb, General Director of Jordan Post, emphasized that the project enables every citizen to acquire a free digital postal box, which acts as a personal postal address verified and linked to the geographical location of their home according to the postal code adopted by the Universal Postal Union. This enables citizens to use it for postal correspondence, receiving parcels, various government services, and facilitating e-commerce and delivery operations across the kingdom.
Al-Tayeb noted that the digital postal box service will soon be included in the "Sanad" application, which allows citizens to easily and conveniently create and manage their digital postal addresses, contributing to the efficiency of providing services related to vital documents, passports, medications, and various government services.
Al-Tayeb explained that the launch of the Digital Postal Box project is part of the national efforts to enhance digital transformation and develop the infrastructure for postal addresses in the kingdom. This involves providing a unified and certified digital postal address that can be used in various transactions and government and logistical services, contributing to increased online shopping operations and opening new global markets where the box number is a key element in purchasing processes.
